National Marathon Checklist

Dublin Marathon | Sunday, 27 October 2024

Before you start...

Please check your personal and club details for this year's National Marathon Championship.

If you have changed your club since you registered for the Marathon, you can change club details. Follow the instructions on how to edit your details. Please note Name changes are not enabled. Only club changes and team declarations are allowed. Club changes will be vetted and verified.

Please do not give your number to any other athletes. This will result in automatic disqualification and ban from running future Dublin Marathon events. As your number is a National Championship number it has more serious consequences for results purposes. It could also lead to your club team been removed from national results. Close scrutiny of results and finish line video will be examined to verify team and individual resutls.

Results & Team Declarations

Results are calculated on the fastest 3 across the line. For example 2 masters + 1 senior = senior team. The fastest 3 can be from all age groups in order to score in senior top 3 places, gold, silver and bronze. A senior gold, silver or bronze could also be made up of all masters 35+ and 50+ athletes. The fastest 3 teams regardless of age make senior teams.

Team Declarations

Team Scoring is 3 to score for Senior, 35+ and 50+ for both men and womens teams. Many over 50+ teams declare to keep their athletes within their age cat teams to prevent them from losing an athlete into 35+ or senior team and thus losing out on a National medal.

If you wish to declare teams please go to the participant list. Click on each athlete that you wish to declare on an age cat team. Select the drop down field under team dec field in form. You can only declare 4 athletes per age cat  team.

Note: be careful when declaring an age cat team. When you declare a team those athletes are locked into their age cat team and cannot move down to help make up a team.

By not declaring your athletes your club has more flexibility. Eg: With long distance not all athletes may finish. You may need to draft a master athletes to drop into your senior team to make up 3 athletes. If your master athlete is not required they simply fall back into their age cat.

RESULTS AFTER THE RACE

As most teams are not declared, athletes are placed into multiple teams Senior, 35+ and 50+ prior to the race. We look at the top 3 first in each age cat to award Gold, Silver and Bronze. Athletes cannot score or medal in more than one age cat team. We clean the top 3 first to clarify medalists. The days after the event we will clean out any athletes that have scored on more than one team outside of the top 3.
